As Our Luck Would Have It....

Image
This is what our luck generally looks like.  Add it to the list of damages from Deans wreck.  On the plus side he's decided to embrace it apparently till he can get into the dentist Tuesday, you know.. Because it's a holiday weekend.

Tenley is 5!

Image
How in the world are you 5?!?!  You have brought so much joy to our family. You LOVE dinosaurs, unicorns, and rainbows.  And anything Disney of course!    We started our morning with mickey pancakes and had dinner at cracker barrel per your request. We had cake and presents at home with Granny, Uncle Paul and Aunt Elaine.  Disney trip to celebrate YOU is coming!

Scary Night

Image
Got a scary phone call tonight from Dean.  He was on his way home from work when a truck hit him.  When the guy hit him it spun him and put our truck skidding on two wheels. When it came to stop it blew out both driver side tires, chunks missing from the rims, the shocks were in the road, the spare tire had came out from under the truck and was in the road, headlight gone, and a huge dent in the front fender and driver side door.   Dean getting in a wreck on the way home has always been a fear of mine with him traveling down lem turner.  We're ridiculously lucky that he's safe, hurting, but safe! Peyton was having a sleep over with some friends at our house so my aunt ran over to watch them while I went to Dean.  After getting all the accident reports done and vehicles loaded on the wrecker he finally agreed to go to the Er and be checked.  Needless to say it was a very long night and we didn't arrive home till 7:15 the next morning.  By that time the...

Sleep over FUN

Image
Peyton has been begging for another sleepover with her friend Macy.  Tonight not only Macy was here but her sister Karly!! The girls had a lot of fun playing this afternoon, though Zane Def felt outnumbered. Haha. Pizza, popcorn and a movie (or two) to finish out the night.

First project of the new year

Image
We started putting up Christmas stuff yesterday and finished everything but taking the lights down outside tonight.  Kids roasted marshmallows and made smores to signify the end of break since we start back Tom.  But the best thing of this weekend!?!?  We have officially started the girls bathroom remodel!!  Yay!!  I've been wanting to do this for a while now, and well, it just needs it!

Forever Friends

Image
You know those lifelong friends that no matter what you pick up like its nothing.  It doesnt matter how long its been since you last hung out. No matter how long since you last talked. Its like no time has pasted.  Im so thankful for those friends.  This is my life long friend here though.  Weve been though A LOT!!  Weve had disagreements that made us go 2.5 years without speaking... And my heart was broken those years.. Part of me was missing.  But shes ALWAYS been there when I needed her most no matter if we went speaking. She has been there through the loss of both my parents and we got to experience having our sons together.. The boys are 6 weeks apart.  I truly dont know what I'd do without her in my life.  I love you Candy!! Today we got together and let our kids play. So our sons are 6 weeks apart. Our girls are 6-8 weeks apart, I cant seem to count right now. And then I have Tenley. Its been a while and while we know life does get in...

Happy 2020!!!!!

Image
We spent new years eve doing a little cleaning up and dean had to work at the base. We did fireworks just after dark while roasting smores since it was already getting pretty cool out.  My aunt Elaine and uncle Paul are in town so we got to spend time with them tonight and they had their first smore!  After having some outside fun they headed off to bed and we went inside with the kids for a night of board games. Watched the ball drop together and then decided to let the kids stay up a little longer playing with them. In the morning dean made us all breakfast. I went against the grain and decided to actually do some cleaning and laundry 🙊. I figure I'll be doing them the rest of the year regardless soooo... Haha.  New years day is always spent doing nothing but playing with our kids and we did just that and had a wonderful day!  Ended our day with pork chops, black eyed peas, collard greens, rice with tomatoes and corn bread.  Happy new year everyone!!!! ...

Hello August!

This last week has gotten away from me.  Still plan to post more to catch everyone up. So this week was busy with getting school supplies and clothes for the kiddos.  I ended up pulling something in my lower back Monday night so it was rocky start to the week.  I did a lot of icing the first few days and then Thursday I sucked it up for some shopping.  We did manage to grab everything but a handful of items for EVERYONE!  Score! Since I hurt my back running and working out have been out this week.  I have tried to watch my diet but with a hurt back the last thing I've been able to really do it be on my feet cooking a ton, so we've just been trying to make some smarter decisions. Dean had some 2 Wakeboarding sessions this weekend so we did have our babysitter back out and I was able to get a bit of a breather from them and enjoy some time in the sun and fresh air.  We've been looking at puppies since Friday.  Lord help me, I'm still not sure wh...

Weekend Ramblings

We had a pretty productive weekend.  We had a friends tractor so we could get the property mowed and cleaned back up.  We had a BABYSITTER for the kids so Dean and I could both be outside cleaning up and mowing.  I can't tell you how big of a deal this was even though we were technically still home, lol!  Fresh air and kiddo free did my soul a lot of good! Plans for this week were to get everything ready and bought for school and to get this house de-cluttered!!   I don't know about any of y'all but when clutter starts to build in our house, even if it's neatly put somewhere, my anxiety starts to build.   At this point I have so much in my "to sell" pile I'm pretty sure I could open up a small retail space, hahah!  But for real!!  We're too far out for yard sales.. How do you all handle it?!?  I'll be sorting, boxing things up and trying to come up with some plan to sell it or something along those lines.. no matter what it all needs new ho...

Fun Friday

The kids and I had a much needed day in the water with friends.... and no one came home sunburnt!! haha!   We stayed in the kiddie section the first half of the day, took a break for lunch and then hit the lazy river for a bit.  We then went to the one slide that Tenley was able to ride while letting Zane and Peyton jump on the other slides there for a couple of quick slides.  A little more lazy river and a swim in the wave pool before the storms rolled in.   Everyone crashed FAST tonight!

One Day Down....

Well today didn't start off well, but my awesome hubby made me go to the gym to get those endorphins rolling.  I didn't crank out much today but did get about 15 min or so of some running in.  That's a start. Though I still need to do the task of before pics and measurements.  My body seems to lose inches before I EVER see that dang scale move!!  I can defiantly say I'm ready for school to start back. I know most mommas are right there with me on that one! lol!  It's been a short and long summer all rolled into one some how.  These three little munchkins are making me bonkers and with the heat the way it's been we've all been trapped indoors.  Which lets be honest, it doesn't help anyone. Made Dean and I pizzas with a new recipe (which you'll be able to find posted in a post below).  Tried to get some weed-eating done in the yard but my poor elbow, that I refuse to go to the dr for (because yes, I'm that hard headed and don't really care to h...

Chicken Crust Pizza

Image
Made something new today for lunch.. Chicken Crusted Pizza!!!  Have to say it was pretty yummy.  We'll prob change up a little next time but we def weren't disappointed! Here's the recipe for the Chicken Crust.... best part.. it's only 3 ingredients!!! Ingredients... 10oz Canned Chicken 1oz Grated Parmesan Cheese 1 Large Egg 1. Drain the canned chicken, getting as much juice out as possible. 2. Spread the chicken out on a baking sheet (I did place ours on parchment paper).  Bake 350 for 10 minutes to dry out the chicken. 3. Once chicken is done place it in a mixing bowl.  Increase your oven to 500. 4. Add your cheese and egg to the chicken and mix. 5. Place your mixture back on your pan. (I again placed it back onto the parchment paper)  Then placed a piece of parchment paper on top of the mixture and used a rolling pin to roll it out. 6. Bake your crust for 10 minutes at 500 7. Once it's done remove your crust and add all your yummy topping...

Getting Back To Me

I honestly don't know where to start.  I'm hoping that getting back to blogging and that putting myself out there will not only bring me back to me but will hold me more accountable and maybe, just maybe, help someone else who may feel the same.  This may jump around a bit but please bare with me. In recent months I've just been going down a slippery slope of disappointment.  Not necessarily with others but more so with myself (and when I allow my self to try to lean on others to only be let down and feeling so angry with myself for trying to lean and then tell myself this is why I don't ask for help or say anything)  I know us moms are hard on ourselves but this has festered into a whole different monster. Depression and Anxiety are no joke and very very real feelings. I'm 36 and I feel like I'm just NO WHERE close to where I thought I'd be in life.  I planned to be a marine biologist and travel and I've done none of that to date and I think it...

Our winter wonderland....

Image
And day without power!  Woke up this morning to ICE everywhere!!  It was so pretty!!  Wish we had snow but it got as close as 45 min away. At 9am our power went out so dean started the generator and we broke out the heaters to keep everyone warm.  Kids went to bed that night with heaters kn their rooms and we slept with 5 thick blankets on our bed... And I may or may not have been close friends with a heating pad, haha.
